The Homestead Act of 1862 has been called one of the most important pieces of legislation in American history. This program will show how David Walburn and his friends were some of the last Americans to homestead in Alaska's wilderness. The most important lesson learned is that in America, few dreams are beyond reach if you are willing, as the homesteader's were, to "prove up!"
