Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, and Eleanor Parker star in Director Robert Wise’s 1965 film production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical 'The Sound of Music.’ A young novice is sent by her convent in 1930s Austria to become a governess to the seven children of a widowed naval officer. The Sound of Music won five Academy Awards in 1966 including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, and Best Music, Scoring of Music, Adaptation or Treatment. Julie Andrews was nominated in the 'Best Actress in a Leading Role’ category.

Come out and celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Sound of Music on the Admiral Theatre’s 50 foot big screen with concert sound! Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and sing your heart out to all of your favorite classic songs from The Sound of Music.
